Cassette play-hair
is a modified vintage cassette player. The recording on the tape is that of a monotonous human voice.
A timing circuit controls the speed of the tape, which changes the pitch of the voice from low (male adult) to high (child).
A nylon hair mounted on the casing of the machine grow and un-grows according to the pitch of the voice.
This autobiographical installation illustrates the passage to puberty, which arrived in my life at the same time as my first cassette player.
