Sunbaiso 2009

Sunbaiso

Developed during a residency in Osaka, the Sunbaiso (sun visor in Japanese) is inspired by the very large visors many middle age women wear in the summer.

I got hold of one and modified it with a set of lights, a raisable flower indicator and a wireless control linked with Black Box Ichi.

Sunbaiso
acts as a visual indicator, showing the state of the human input-output unit within the black box system: when the flower is low and the lights pulse slowly, the human is not active , while when the flower rises and the lights are fully on, the human has to complete a task for the black box.
